OLD BUSINESS
Library Budget - County Administration has asked that proposed budget requests for funding be delivered no later than Friday, January 8, 2021. Library staff will immediately begin drafting a proposed budget for FY20/21 to be reviewed and approved prior to submission for approval by the Board of Supervisors. Budget will be submitted using a new one-page form as requested by the County. The Library Board of Trustees will review via email, prior to the Christmas holiday
Nomination of Officers 2021 - The following slate of new officers was presented:
Jim Pavik- Chairman; Carolyn Taylor - Vice Chairman; Nancy Fisher - Secretary
Dick Pogue made a motion to accept the nomination of new officers of the board and Carolyn Taylor seconded the motion.

NEW BUSINESS:
Letter of Commendation: Steve Wilson, with board approval, created a Resolution for a Commendation in recognition of the outstanding contributions the Mathews County Memorial Library Staff continue to provide our community in spite of adverse conditions created by the Coronavirus Pandemic. Jackie Ingram will be asked to present the resolution to the Board of Supervisors.

Hotspot Rental Program
This project strives to bring Wireless broadband connectivity to Mathews County residents by using a hotspot rental program at the Mathews Memorial Library. The library would add 25 Verizon Jetpack MiFi880L hotspots. Citizens will be able to rent the hotspot/router combo for free for 21 days with an option to renew, if needed. This proposed project is designed to provide on-line access to students, families and individuals in areas of our county where coverage is unavailable or less than desirable. We are fortunate that Greg Lewis of our Library staff is the primary point of contact for this project. He has prepared an Application for CARES Act Funding to Fast Track Broadband and if approved the award would be in the amount of $15,696.75.

Upcoming Events:
Tree of Thanks - Patrons are invited to choose a leaf, share gratitude and place the leaf on the Tree of Thanks. The tree will be on display at the library beginning November 14th through Thanksgiving.
The Courtyard will be the primary site for holiday decorations and planning is currently underway.
