In celebration of Black History Month, Mathews Memorial Library is pleased to sponsor a multi-media contest spotlighting the extensive and important contributions made by Black Americans to American culture, both locally and nationally. Each submission should explain why and how the person they have selected affects American culture.
Cash prizes will be awarded in each category .
Essay – a 250 word essay about their chosen person.
Speech – A timed speech of 3-5 minutes.
Art – Students may chose the medium to create their own work.
Audio/Visual Presentation – In this format the student may chose to create a video, or a power point presentation about their figure.
Open to ages 10-18
