Lemonade Lecture -
Pilots of the Deep - July 15
Today, we will be joined by a scientist who is best friends with many of our
nautical neighbors. Because he
is familiar with where they live, what they eat and how they travel, we will
learn about swimming with sharks, how to speak Dolphin and how to recognize
the song of the humpback whale.
We will also hear how exciting it is to come face to face with many
different creatures of the sea and what usually happens when you do.
Tales To Be Told
- Beneath the Waves - July 16
Our friend, Belinda Blowfish, promises some wonderful nautical tales about
her friends who live in the ocean beneath the waves.
Creative Activities -
Charmed by the Sea - July 17
Whether we go to sea in ships or just to the beach, it’s a good idea to ward
off danger by wearing a special charm.
A visit to the Bay School will give you everything you need to make
your own special charm, which you might choose to wear on your wrist or
pinned to your hat.
Discovery Day - VA
Aquarium "Window in the Sea" - July 18
A trip to nearby Virginia Beach will allow us to explore one of the best
aquariums in the country at the Virginia Aquarium & Marine Science Center.
At the Bay and Ocean Pavilion we will meet sharks, stingrays and
other ocean dwellers who navigate through over 700,000 gallons of water.
We can also visit with the many aquatic animals that live in the
Chesapeake Bay, including turtles, fish and a horseshoe crab in the touch
pool.
