Lemonade Lecture - An
Underwater Universe - July 8
Your voyage of discovery to learn about the watery world of the planet earth
and the beautiful and fascinating creatures that live in it begins with a
visitor from Nauticus. Over 99
percent of the earth is ocean. The program, “Seeing the Sea,” will help you
get a better feel for this huge living space made up of mountain ranges,
valleys and vast spaces inhabited by astounding marine life.
The scientist will bring along props, including a shark skeleton that
will give you a close-up view of some of our “nautical neighbors.”

A story time filled with words like ocean waves that crash and whisper in
your ear is bound to lead to excitement and discovery.
Creative Activities -
A Puzzling Predicament - July 10
The oceans support beautiful and fascinating forms of life that cannot exist
on land. Millions and millions
of creatures flourish from surface to sea floor.
Your challenge will be to join your friends in solving the puzzle of
where some of your nautical neighbors might be found.
Discovery Day - Nauticus
"An Immersing Experience" - July 11
Our first Discovery Day adventure will take us to Norfolk, Virginia, to
visit Nauticus. What exactly is
Nauticus? What goes on there? Nauticus is a museum that features cool
science, an IMAX theatre and a battleship.
Our visit will include all of this plus touching a live shark and
seeing many unusual and interesting nautical exhibits.
